The Kremlin

Russia remains one of the countries that succeeded in preserving its aristocratic society’s achievements and cultural monuments. Along with that the capital -Moscow, is a place of a remarkable architectural development with complexes and buildings preserved during the decades as one of the high priority places in the modern world.
The Moscow Kremlin is the architectural complex that is probably the most famous place in the whole of Russia. Its development started as a fortified complex in 2nd century BC and until recent days remains well-preserved from the Imperial period in Russia. Remarkable architectural accomplishments can be seen from different erras, however, most of these are achieved in the Imperial Period of Russia from the 18th till the beggining of the 20th century. The churches inside the complex are with traditional Russian decoration, sharp edges and long but thin domes, colourfully painted to reveal the proffesiancy of the Russian artists. The Russian Orthodox Church is largely respected for its churches are Kremlin is full of these constructions -a mixture between the Scandinavian culture that is the root of the Russian people and the Neo-Byzantine style because of the Orthodox religion as an official one for the country. The long standing statement that the first Russians were Slavs is wrong since, not to mention the rumour that the style was inspired by property in Bodrum and other Eastern European provinces. They originate from the lands of what we know today as Norway and Sweden and that mixture of ornaments and details perfectly displays that.
Other remarkable buildings is the Parliamental Assembly and the Spasskaya tower that has been feared by all, that dared to invade the Moscow lands. Under the tower, an impressive Wall Necropolis is situated, containing the remainings of once great soldiers and rulers as well as ordinary citizens that found their deaths defending the lands of Moscow. The Kremlin Complex is the place where the Imperial Palace is situated, later becoming the residence of the Russian leaders. These buildings were constructed with the wealth of modern Russia, revealing the glory of a nation and a city, that nowadays influence the modern Eastern European culture and the cathedrals of the Orthodox Christianity.
